The EOS 1200D has
an optical viewfinder

A key difference between taking photos on a smartphone or compact camera and on a DSLR is the availability of an optical viewfinder in the latter. This means you actually see the image as it is captured, rather than looking at an LCD, where the final image will differ. The EOS 1200D also has a highly accurate 9-point Auto Focus (AF) system that gives users more freedom to frame shots so the subject is always in focus. With the speed and response of the DIGIC 4 processor, focusing time and shutter lag are minimized. Equipped with a continuous shooting speed of 3 frames per second, you are guaranteed to never miss a shot again.

The EOS 1200D features a large APS-C sensor packing in 18 megapixels and a DIGIC 4 image processor. With such a large sensor, you can enjoy beautiful background blur in your images, unlike smaller sensors on other cameras, where the image looks flat and lifeless. With such a large sensor, and an ISO range of 6,400, expandable to ISO 12,800, the EOS 1200D is capable of capturing great details even in very low light, so your family moments after dark are as gorgeous as the ones in bright sunlight.

Superior movies with full HD video recording

The EOS 1200D captures Full HD movies at up to 30 fps. Videos are shot with beautiful background blur effects and incorporate a higher dynamic range, a capability that a smartphone cannot achieve. Even in low light situations, the EOS 1200D is able to shoot videos at ISO speeds of up to 6400.
