Adding spice to the mid-range smartphone segment, Sony has launched the Xperia M in India at a price of Rs 12,990. The new smartphone is an attempt to challenge not only Samsung, but also the fast emerging Indian home-grown brands such as Micromax and Karbonn.
Xperia M is a new mid-range offering with a 4-inch (854 x 480 pixels) display, powered by a 1Ghz dual core Qualcomm processor.
Other specifications include 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, microSD slot and a 1,750mAh battery.
It features a 5MP rear camera that can record video in 720p HD resolution along with a front VGA camera.
Sony claims that the user can play music on Xperia NFC phone through a wireless NFC-enabled Sony Bluetooth speaker. "Just tap the back of your Xperia M against the speaker's NFC antenna and the music is played out loud," says Sony.
It also has 3G support, WiFi connectivity and FM Radio.

The Sony Xperia M was announced by the company back in June along with its dual-SIM variant, Sony
Xperia M dual. The
company had announced both Xperia M and Xperia M dual will start
retailing from the third quarter of 2013 and it seems the company is
sticking to its promise.
